We’re in Portland
It’s been snowing. It’s so cold outside that we kind of lost all feeling in our faces as we tried to walk six blocks for pizza, but ended up going into a diner two blocks earlier, because the thought of continuing to our chosen destination was almost unthinkable. Apparently, years of living in San Francisco have robbed us of our ability to survive anything other than entirely moderate climates. They’ve definitely robbed us of a wardrobe for any other kind of weather.
Anyway, yes; we’ve moved from sunny San Francisco to portentous Portland, where everyone is almost overwhelmingly friendly, and our neighborhood includes something called The Waffle Window which, I promise, is a window where a woman will sell you waffles, coffee and hot chocolate. There is no way in which this doesn’t feel like some kind of heaven. Nonetheless, I apologize for not updating the blog recently; that whole “moving” thing got in the way (You can check here for more on that), but I promise to try harder now. Honest.
